Halp! sony vaio laptop - OS not found??

My pc was doing fine yesterday, was reading some ED articles and I decided to go to bed and I usually just close the lid to my laptop to go into stanby mode.

I get up this morning and it has an error that says my Netgear intenet client (I had just installed it the day before) would not let this pc go into standby mode, please try closing all programs and try again.

So i clicked ok, went to a mates house for a few hours, then cam back and this message was up: " operating system not found".

My pc won't boot or anything, every key i press brings up the same message. Help???

A: go to your mates, find a scan disk program that will run in dos, put it on a cd, set ur laptop to boot from cd, run scan. hopefully it will fix it, sounds like the boot sector is corrupt.

B: u probly have restore function. u mite have to press F12 wen comp boots (read ur manual) it will restore laptop to new.

C: hard drive is fried. Unfucky

E: wheres D?

msd how do you set a pc to boot from disk? It automatically goes to os not found after the sony logo?

it was pretty hot when I found it... :cry:

if you need boot options go to BIOS - DEL or F2

press F11 for boot selection popup at the start, then u can chose if u want to boot from cd, hard drive, usb...
