now it seems not to work at all and bagpuss i got confused with your description as well now, hopeless me i tell you *my folder names do differ but not too much*
My GTA SA folder C:\Games\GTA_SAn_Andreas
Race install (as i understood) C:\Games\Mods\Race\MTA
Race GTA SA Folder C:\Games\Mods\Race
DM Install folder C:\Games\Mods\DM\MTA
DM GTA SA folder C:\Games\Mods\DM
and then the MTA mods refuse to work altogether, have i done something silly or what? plz help

Right. Ok...
Ivan, you need 2 copies of your GTA:SA installation. So, copy and paste C:\Games\GTA_SAn_Andreas. Rename the new folder to whatever. Say GTA_San_Andreas_DM.
Right. So heres your file list:
GTA Race Install:
C:\Games\GTA_SAn_Andreas
MTA Race Install:
C:\Games\Mods\Race\MTA
GTA Deathmatch Install:
C:\Games\GTA_SAn_Andreas_DM (or whatever you called the copied GTA install)
MTA Deathmatch Install:
C:\Games\Mods\DM\MTA
I hope this clears it up for you bud. Just say if it doesn't.

mm, why not install MTA:DM into x:\program files\MTA San Andreas DM
and MTA:SA in x:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas Race
then make 2 shortcuts of the two Multi Theft Auto.exe and run the one u want?

I tried that and it doesn't work. Dave/scots method is the only working way.
