It seems a virus was to blame, a trojan, located in my MTA directory. Maybe it was one of these that hibernates, i wouldn't know, but it's been a while since i installed anything MTA related.

Anyway, sorted.

I had a trojan which took over in my MTA directory not so long ago. :shock:
It wouldn't work so I re-installed GTA+MTA. Anyway, good to hear you're up and running again.

Go to 'map editor ' folder, copy the 'model' folder, and then past it on 'race'

Try to manually terminate the process thats already running

ctrl+alt+del and kill the gta_sa.exe process

Just incase anyone else reads this thread with similar issues, here are the the two solutions to getting race 1.1.2 workin' right:

Solution A
----------
Step 1. Install Race 1.1.1
Step 2. Install Race 1.1.2
Thats it. Do nothing else. Dont move anything anywhere.

* OR *

Solution B (from Cortez)
----------
Step 1. Install Race 1.1.2
Step 2. Go to 'map editor' folder, copy the 'model' folder, and then paste it on 'race'
** Use COPY, not move! Dont drag the folder, right click and select copy! **

Use Solution A *OR* Solution B - Dont mix em up!
