Uploading Map Error

Just tried to upload my 1st map, wrote a quick heads up for Whiskey, pressed Submit and recieved this massage....

SQL Error : 1196 Warning: Some non-transactional changed tables couldn't be rolled back. >>>> some jargon <<<< and then: Line : 92 File : functions_wpm.php
Is there a problem or is it just simple old me?

I've no idea - it works for me, though I have seen this error before (can't remember why or when). Try it again, and if it still doesn't work, then my first guess would be that your PM inbox is full and needs to be cleaned out. Aside from that... I dunno :shock:

No messages in my inbox, but, there are 5 messages sent to Whiskey in my Outbox, obviously the 5 attempts i made to upload the map. Can you see if the map has uploaded Dave?

Please delete all five from your sentbox and try again - in the DB, the message header exists, but there's no text to go with it.

Deleted all 5, tried again and got the same message - just for the record, here's the jargon bit:

INSERT INTO phpbb_privmsgs (privmsgs_type, privmsgs_subject, privmsgs_from_userid, privmsgs_to_userid, privmsgs_date, privmsgs_ip, privmsgs_enable_html, privmsgs_enable_bbcode, privmsgs_enable_smilies, privmsgs_attach_sig) VALUES (1, 'Map upload: Venturas Overlap.map', 135, 10, 1203788138, '', 0, 1, 1, 1)

And also the 5 attempts to upload were in my Outbox, not my Sentbox. I'm not sure what the significance is of that, but just so you know.

Can someone else try uploading a test map (just put TEST in the comments bit) so we can see if it affects other people other than Sputs?

hmmm, i got your map sput but for some reason i cant open the message containing it....

As mentioned, the problem is that it creates the message header but then bombs out before creating the message text. I don't know what the problem is, and since I am using some weird extra function to send PMs (phpbb2 doesn't have a built-in PM-sending function), it doesn't surprise me that it doesn't work occasionally.

I don't have time to look into the problem at the moment, so maybe you could just upload the maps here, Sputs?

As far as I can tell, the problem some people had with uploading maps has now been fixed.

If you are that bothered about the reason - I was thinking that it was a problem that specifically affected different users, but actually it was a combination of bugs. The problem occured if you used the character ' in the comments section. I had code in there that was meant to escape this, but it didn't work properly. This would normally have been easy to spot, but the PM function (that I stole from somewhere) that sends the PM to the map admins when you upload the maps had a bug, which caused it to display the wrong SQL string - thus all the time I've spent scratching my head trying to find out what was wrong with my SQL, I was looking at the wrong line.
