Yeah u can send invites through windows live my tag is SKCDop3man83
Multiplayer is pretty straight forward when u get ur head around it. U can easily join friends in a unranked game through windows live but its not possible in ranked matchs

Yea, then u can get disconnected cuz ur computer is running too slow....WTF!!, see you there, wherever that is!

To be able to see if anyone you know who has the game is online, you obviosuly need their gamertag and communicate through Windows Live. Windows Live is accessed through pressing your Home key, then just send someone a message.

Was great fun. Found it a bit strange that some of us (myself included) were almost invincible at certain points - several point blank shots didn't bring us down. Dunno what that was all about?

Right, there has been a third patch released for GTA IV. It seems to have totally fucked over the hackers, for now. So play it online now while the sanity lasts... :roll:

Well, I got a significant improvement with patch 2, this makes no additional difference to me. But, as is the usual thing with these GTA IV patches, the effects differs from machine to machine, so just try it and see what it does for you.

A new update for WL recently released is causing a few problems. If you haven't logged in to WL and downloaded the patch i strongly urge you to leave it well alone for now folks.

Lastnight after going online for the 1st time in a few days and installing the WL patch i soon noticed the significant drop in FPS. Infact Kolezan should remember as i commented on it not long after we met up.

But it doesn't end there - sometimes the start menu won't load after the intro, and in single player, aside from the FPS drop, there's this really annoying, what seems like random stuttering and wierd shit going on with the peds! Kinda makes you wonder who's incharge at GFWL, or Rockstar for that matter. Idiots.

Hmm, I've noticed a wee drop in FPS, not too bad though. Still a bit shit. Not tried singleplayer yet...

There's another update to GFWL that apparently fixes the problems the previous update caused.

Yeah back on track. Apparently it wasn't just GTA4 that was affected, it was all or most GFWL titles. I nolonger experience the stuttering in SP but i'm pretty sure i was gettig better FPS in multiplayer before i installed the initial dodgy WL update. Hmm, maybe in future when there's an update due out it might be wise to benchmark the game and compare before and afters.
