sick fucker lol
im just trying to get it to run for more than an hour without getting them silly vpu recovers with the 4870, it doesnt matter what gfx settings i use it still happens with the min gfx, think it might b overheating problems so ive just taken the side off my case n got a big fan pointing right on the card so see if it works

I've been having huge problems with my new 4890 - doing anything 3D-ish from using Google Earth to playing GTA4, the program or game would eventually crash and in GTA4's case, it would have trouble starting up again. I too thought that maybe it was overheating, but I ran GPU-X and Furmark together and watched the temperatures hit the roof, and all the while it carried on working. I tried everything I could think of, down to a complete reinstall, and was about ready to send it back when I remembered that since I upgraded the computer I had overclocked the cpu from 2.4ghz to 3ghz. It had behaved fine with the old graphics card, but when I set the bios back to the defaults, I've not had any problems since with the 4890.
I've not got round to going back through the settings and working out which ones were causing the issues.

| Think its sorted now just had a few hours out of it with no crashes
