I tend to concentrate a lot on the scripts side of the server. Nomatter how many great maps you have, it seems that when the scripts break, the server becomes empty.
I've been frustrated with the situation where, despite the fact I live in the same country as where the MTA server is hosted and have a computer on 24/7, I've not been able to run the scripts properly because of the dreaded lost maps issue, causing most of the maps to appear as Unknown. I set about in a desperate attempt to fix this, and I think I've succeeded (with the help from Adiboy and a bloke who wrote a PHP mta admin thingy). As a result, I'm now back to running the scripts, and so far everything seems good.
The only problem Acid_Rain reported to me earlier was that the times listed in the game differed by the times reported by the scripts by up to two seconds - I spent an hour or so this evening examining the times reported from the game and worked out that the times the scripts had needed to be divided by 1.005945 to get as close to the in-gae time as possible. Fuck, what a sad life I must lead. But I've applied this to the scripts now and the times should be pretty close to the in-game times, within a few tenths at least
I won't go into the technicalities of how the lost maps thing was overcome, because it probably won't interest many people here - but once I've tested it properly I will be posting about it on the mtasa forums.
For the DM server, I've now split the scripts up into two separate mIRCs - it seems that the problem with random people winning deathmatch maps before everyone else was dead is caused by running two servers off one set of scripts. I will be keeping all scripts and stats separate.
Meanwhile, I'd really like to know if anyone has any more problems with the scripts. If all goes well, I'll reset all the stats again this weekend.
