I dont know which one to get to play GTAIV, im a loyal sony fan but its expensive.. help me out lol tell me best things about both of these consoles if u own one

Xbox will just scratch your disk in such a way it's unplayable within weeks..

...and apparently their graphics chips start to fry after a bit. Don't know if they've fixed it now though. (probabilly yes)

PS3 defo. I have to play Blu-Ray DVD and it's fab. It's graphics go upto 1080p but dunno about the 360.

True, price is high but I tell ya, quality for money.

Only thing is you'll need a large HD tv to notice the graphics. I have it on a bravia 40" and it's just outstanding graphics, you'll love it. If you don't then you might aswell just get a 360.

You should better collect more money than buying XBOX 360. Ok, it's cheaper, but did u think WHY is cheaper than PS3? The price is direct proportional with the quality.

perhaps the graphics is better on PS3 but xbox is generally better

i've read PS3 is shit for online play where xbox live is king,

i dont own a big snazzy flat screen plasma HD TV and was more interested in playing the console through my PC monitor. I've read this is possible for the xbox but more hard to do with PS3?

also, the games for PS3 dont come upto xbox's standards..

But the PS3 looks better, is quieter, and would last longer and has more potential for higher end gfx games..

I guess u can plug your ps3 to pc monitor whit HDMI-DVI adapter, and sounds u can get if u buy an sound card whit optic spdif input. thats what i thougt but i gotta buy some 32" lcd tv, not possibly full-hd, but some kind that

i will buy ps3, cuz i can get a bluray player whit it, and xbox no hd-dvds
but only problem is i don't have money :lol:

It seems to me that Microsoft are trying to corner the market with it's multimedia center and all it's downloadable (pay for) content that will follow, while Sony is sticking to what it does best, that being games.

The Gamer

Those looking for cutting-edge graphics in their games are likely to turn to the PlayStation 3 with its super-fast and powerful Cell processor. On the spec sheet the console outperforms both the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution and, from the look of the screenshots released so far, it seems that users will get a movie-like gaming experience. Aside from the graphics and the processor, the PS3 has little going for it over the other two though. Then again, do hardcore gamers really need much more?

The Entertainer

The most interesting of the two is the multimedia Xbox 360, which Microsoft clearly sees as much more than a games machine. The company seems to be using the console as a way of getting its Media Centre system, which handles photographs, music and video, into the nationâ€™s living rooms.

The Xbox 360 will also allow you to plug in a digital camera, MP3 and even the PlayStation Portable, so that you can access your music and pictures. Microsoft is also creating the Xbox MarketPlace, an online shop that will sell you game extras and images. It seems likely that it will eventually also sell music and video downloads â€“ the built-in hard drive canâ€™t be there solely for game saves.

The Decision

So which one is for you? The Xbox 360 is going to be the first to market and will probably get a warm response, although some people will wait to see what the PlayStation 3 will do in the flesh. Those looking to justify more than just a games console under the television should probably consider the Xbox 360 as on paper it seems to be the all-rounder. The games might not be as impressive as the PlayStation 3, but the overall offering certainly seems to be.

The PlayStation 3 itself is for those who want a high-power games console and not much more. It does also give you a Blu-ray player in your living room so you can benefit from high-definition movies, but the emphasis from Sony seems firmly on the games, and rightly so.

For me Hit, personally i would go for the PS3, i don't really agree with what the Xbox is trying to do with it's so called multi-media entertaininment system, sounds like nothing more than a PC in the guise of a console really.,. but without the full potential and diversity that a PC already has. :wink:

I love computers as you can upgrade them, buy a new one but PS3 there is only one model.
But....
You have to wait over 6 months for GTA IV to release on PC. Whats the point...

LOL. I think you'll melt waiting that long.

No-one can stand 6 monhts not playing gta iv, when all ppls are using ps3:s and xbox:s. U just get your head blown cuz of unbelievebale stress it causes :lol:

and u cant know how good pc it needs to run on reasonable frame rate? like gta sa, my sisters pc got just the minimun components, but framerate is closer to 1 or 0 (maybe 2 whit all minimun settings :lol:

)

But: ALL I WANT FOR GTA IV IS MTA RELEASE TO IT. THAT WILL BLOW MY MIND.

playin races and dm whit those fine graphics and gta quality gaming style and mta scriptability to play own sux-ass mods w/ 50 ppl online and lo lag

ye that means gta will cost over $200 if u buy it with a console so comp all the way, some of today's comps are better than ps3 anyway

about gta 4 multiplayer, it only goes up to 16 people and yu wont be able to mod the maps , i'm pretty sure we are all gonna get bored of the same old city without any fun new bits, after all the the thing that made mta was the ability to modify and create stuff, like a giant lego

PS3 is very discreet btw. You cant hear it much only when you load a disk on. Obviously.

I only have SpiderMan 3 with my PS3 lol. That I do not play. My lil' bro's.
But it's still awesome to watch. "My spidey senses are tingling"

BTW: Yes, you can buy/build PC's which are much more powerful than PS3's but the thing is that the games will come out on PS3 first, then on PC just like GTA IV for example. PS3 has a 3.2GhZ (not dual core btw, just 3.2) processor and that doesn't seem much but it does the job. The graphics is 512mb and I forgot the make/model. The HDD is 80GB which is not much.
You can make a PC much more powerful than this but games will still release on PS3/Xbox 360 before it reaches PC.
