I always hated sa-mp. You mustn't have any little lag to play well that type of game like shooting each other. You prepare to shoot, and in the next seconds you see him moving instantly 10 meters away :lol:

A few months ago they supposedly 'gave up' because they were angry at cheaters. A justifiable reason maybe, but the next day the site was back up.

Haha, apparently this time it's real. Some server called Gamer-X or something gave out Kye's personal details all over the place, so he got pissed off and deleted everything, including all the backups.

I had thought they had gone down. I was gonna have a party as SA-MP was crap and always had been crap.

I've finally had enough and I'm leaving SA-MP and GTA modding. Anyone who has been following recent happenings probably saw this coming. Cam has been placed in charge of this forum. The master list etc will remain online for the near term.

There probably won't be any further SA-MP releases but we have already announced that. The beta team has been disbanded and I've let them know now there's virtually no chance of another SA-MP release.

As a last request, please quit saying "Kye this" and "Kye that". You have absolutely no idea who I am. There were other developers involved on this project from the start, they're just a lot less known than I am.

sorry if you were being sarcastic hitman but kye is the leading developer i mean former leading developer of SA-MP

and matt from what i heave read on numerous forums like gamer x i kind of feel sorry for kye, basically he asked for donations to keep the servers running and people attcked him for it saying that he is trying to make money from the mod. and as you know people started supporting this idea and making videos saying stupid stuff. next some dude found out who Kye actually was and posted his real address and name all over the net. some people then started posting pictures on SA-MP forum just like that one up there and finally started posting gay porn.

finally an actual member of the development team went corrupt by robbing the next upcoming version of the mod, still in its development stage and posting the hole code online in the form of a free source program meaning that all the work that went into making it was to count for nothing as hackers will be able to study this code make better cheats.

i know that Kye was a bit of a dick towards MTA but when i kinda peiced to gether the whole story i kinda feel somewhat sympathetic.

well here is the real end, as a result of posting the code as open source hackers are able to basically intercept the packets of data transfer and basically send a virus or trojan inbedded in the packets. the sa-mp team has revoked all the licenses as the mod is no longer safe to use

this is what i beleive to be the real end for the mod, hurrah for MTA

well to be terribly honest, i am not too familiar with this part of computing but from what i understand. the scripts that are used in the mod are encoded and decoded using the same key that is embeded in the server and the client. this is so the scripts can run automatically once they have been sent to the client, without asking the user, so if an outsider does plant their own script into the main transfer then you will not be aware that it is being executed. at least in firefox you know what you are downloading. but as i said, not really my area of expertise

*main point of the discussion* it is not safe to run the mod
