Ok, so for the past 12 years or so scientists have been building this huge underground partical accelerator called the - it's primary function is to recreate the same conditions just after the big bang, giving a valuable insight into the origin of matter and hopefully revealing the location of the elusive Higgs Boson particle, and i quote, "The Higgs Boson is so crucial to our understanding of the Universe that it has been dubbed the God particle. It explains how fundamental particles acquire mass, or as one scientist plainly states: "It is what makes stuff stuff..."
THe LHC cost around 6 billion dollars to construct, probably enough to solve most of the worlds food shortages, but that's besides the point, because within it's first 10 years of operation, there is apparently, a 1 in 50,000,000 chance that either a black hole or a new type of matter could form known as 'strangelets' and ultimately result in the destruction of the planet!
Anyone got any thoughts on this, reassurance? lol
Oh, i almost forgot, 10th September 2008 they switch it on.

They say it's highly unlikely that a micro black hole will ever be created, because LHC will produce collisions at energies of only 2µJ, while the Earth is routinely impacted by cosmic rays at 10J. ()
But dull science doesn't sell news anyway

riiight... thanks for the valuable insight Hitman.
and i i know i've heard of these theories but is practically impossible to create a black hole from colliding atoms. number 1 no one actually can say for sure whata black hole is although there are good theories.
and that tube is going to be used to collide two atoms together, basically fire a couple in opposite directions and wait until eventually they hit each other head on. then you analyse all the debris that is left behind, thats the soul use of a particle accelerator. for a black hole to form you need unimaginable amount of atoms to suddenly collapse inwards (dont understand what i mean? google is your friend)
now my theory is that they have been building that thing for so long now that the scientists have wet dreams about it and make up ridiculous crap

what will happen when 2 atoms at hy speed hit eachother? same as when we destroy only one of them - a mushroom like BOOM, except, there are 2 atoms lol

thye mushroom boom only comes from the domino effect, one atom is split, the proton from that attom splits another and so on and on and on 2 atoms wont really do much

i can split the atom of a molecule
Today, physics is a broad and highly developed subject that is, for practical reasons, split into several general subfields. In addition to this, it can also be divided into two conceptually different branches: theoretical and experimental physics; the former dealing with the development of new theories, and the latter dealing with the experimental testing of these new, or existing, theories. Despite many important discoveries during the last four centuries, many significant questions about nature still remain unanswered, and many areas of the subject are still highly active.

wikipedia ftw
Physics is the discipline devoted to understanding nature in a very general sense: the fundamental characteristic of physics is that it aims to gain knowledge, and hopefully understanding, of the general properties of world around us. As an example, we can consider asking the following question on the nature of the Universe itself: how many dimensions do we need? Given that we know the Universe to consist of four dimensions (three space dimensions, and one time dimension), we can also ask why the universe picked those particular numbers: why not have four space dimensions? The fact that a choice was made out of a possibility of many means that questions like these fall under the scope of physics. Other general properties of nature include the existence of mass (as in Newton's laws of motion), charge (as in Maxwell's equations), and spin (in Quantum mechanics), amongst others.

It's nothing but a 60 billion dollar scientists toy, a very elaborate one, that could unlock the secrets of the universe, but with a small chance that it could eat us all in the process lol. Do you not want to know why we're here, how we got here and where it's all going, i mean really know? rather than suck up that fancyful, fairytale shite that some guy with beard put us here.

They should have come to me first. I could have got them the unlocked secrets of the universe for 10 billion dollars.

I still like to cling onto the fact that there is a possibility of it creating a black hole. Even if it is a tiny possibility.
