As of today, SKC is officially 4 years old! What a ride it has been. We've had a lot of ups and downs over the years, but we always pulled through thanks to our relatively small player base of hardcore racing enthusiasts.
Through the combined efforts of everyone here at SKC, our servers are finally getting the player amount they deserve. We can proudly say without exaggerating that we've got the best racing server in MTA and a pretty nice DD server too. Playing on the SKC servers is a unique racing experience not found anywhere else on the internet. And it's all thanks to our awesome members! Our SKC racers also still kick ass as usual , showing people just what that tag is all about. I can't wait to see what the future brings for our awesome little community.
Wear that tag with pride, boys! Be proud for being in a great 4 year old pwning clan, be proud of yourselves for all the things you've contributed to it and most of all, be proud because you're all just awesome people.
It's been SofaKingCool playing with y'all, I love you guys.

Congrats to everyone, mad that just a few months ago the only players here were hardcore racers that just popped in once a week for a little race, the server was so close to the edge of oblivion...
I remember before I started adding all these models, trying to talk Whiskey into letting me try, and I quote from Whiskey something like "Its not worth it, people wont start playing here again because of a few new cars"
Oh how wrong you were eh?!!
I said it before, noone listens to me, but im always right

Gotta say i also had my doubts in the beginning, we were close to the edge and something had to be done and making the changes was a good call!
Everyone who took part in turning it around for the better has done a damn fine job. The quality of racing is second to none, we;ve never had it so good in my book, and that's why we love it, quality.

I supported your idea since the beginning. On most maps, which I made, I used custom vehicles. So i like them. Testing them was not too complicated. I have to agree you made You made the most time consuming thing with the maps. And finally we have some skilled player on the server who not member of the clan.
I think Demiveil's post tell everything what we have done.

What I think im getting at is the handling, we have literally 100's of custom tracks so similar to eachother, a hairpin here, a Bullet there, we've played the same Handling for 7 years aswell...locked to 125kph maximum.
I thought taking all these maps and making them realistic 350kph+ custom racing circuits would please absolutely everyone...after 7 years the same GTA handling physics can get boring.....especially with hundreds of similar tracks.
I see comments like "omg youre like harum changing things"
Old people stuck in their old ways, clinging to 7 year old handling that is also out-dated......fearing any change......again...
I think it was Adi who said recently something while playing....like "If I see one more F1 track ill just delete them all"
Here was my plan when I was adding these lovely cars, I thought with F1 server dead we could make faster race tracks here, as its a bloody good script, and adds so much more to racing online.
That was wrong?
I use precision dual analogue sticks, so maybe I think its more awesome handling than others do, I just think cool cars should be able to go 300kph+, and we should be able to race with them online and have fun, am I wrong?

Well firstly congratulations are in order for surviving the last 4 years and landing on this point in time with a server bustling with activity, whilst nothing compared to the life span of a giant tortoise, in this business I consider it to be quite an achievement. And its good to see that just a few months ago your server was dying and yet you managed to go for it all, and get it. A situation we too are facing and I can only hope we fare as well as you. (Although I wonder if the user base will allow that these days...)
Regarding the F1 script topic, I thought I'd put my two cents in if I may. To me whilst I enjoy the occasional F1 map on your server, when frequent I do find them a tad annoying, and I think the problem is simply that the game was never designed to allow vehicles of that speed, the general physics of the vehicles don't quite work, and even the fact that the roads are low poly meaning that with any change of gradient the car is either crashing into the road or hovering above it. Because of that driving these fast cars just doesn't feel realistic, the maps become in my mind classified similar to that of maps like dinghy falls, in that they can sometimes be fun for a laugh and a bit of a change, but they're a bit otherworldly and don't satisfy my craving for good MTA Racing.

The game can handle the speed, it just depends on the players, noobs will always slam into the first corner going too fast. That cant be helped, they just learn not to.
Its just with these new models it seems natural to make them go as fast as they do in real life. The Veryon goes 431kph, thats a bit more than the gtasa limited 125kph!
Ok so maybe it is my controls that are setup better and I can control the brakes at 400kph,....but dope uses keyboard just fine. I dont see why we shouldnt develop it further....buy a logitech dual pad for £19.99!
I have just used the handling on flat, wide custom tracks, it works for some silly stunt maps too I noticed and offroad with Sandking can be nice too, but mainly just the hundreds of custom tracks I think WILL benefit from more speed.
How much more speed is variable, and I dont see why its such a problem to make changes to the old dusty gta handling on custom maps where we can.

HT, hold on a sec with that thought. Let us get this winter thing out of the way and then we'll have a go at your idea. You'll be pleased to know adi has already had a similar idea but instead of doing it for a track, it'll be done for each car maybe.

I have talked with Adi about editing the models handling instead of each individual map.
A few points...Ive started editing the handling on some maps, and Some maps would be broken if the handling is changed....eg some Jump/Stunt maps would not work.....quite a few broken maps there I think...
You could just do the model handling thing, but I think we will be finding broken maps for months afterwards....
