It seems some maps on the server are displaying CPs at maximum size, the checkpoints are nothing like the sizes they were when they were placed in the editor. Occasionally they are normal but more often they are not, so it suggests it's a random event and not fixed to a perticular map.
The screens are from the map G-Turns, the CP bug creates an obvious exploit allowing players to cut the turns.
EDITOR
SERVER
I'm sure i saw this happen with another map during MW lastnight, it was obvious the CPs were far to large for the map, you can usually tell because the arrow markers are half buried in the road or hidden below the surface.
Just wondering if something in one of the scripts could be causing this?

That thought crossed my mind cos both maps i made have this CP prob on the server, but i'm running the latest version, 1.0.5, so everything should be up to date?

I have this issue only with editor maps (new made maps only), on server all works perfectly.

Well the new map i made in the editor after i reinstalled MTA doesn't have the CP problem in server, so it looks like what Adi was saying with the resources was the problem. I just took it for granted because i was running 0.5 that everything was up to date.

Using the new editor i remapped all the checkpoints in the two maps, yet they are still too big when the maps get to server, which suggests to me that it's irreversible. Anyway i found an old post on the MTA forums discribing exactly the same problem.
THe fix involves changing the first line in the map file to this: <map edf:definitions="race,editor_main">
I've had a look at G-Turns map and mine reads: <map edf:definitions="race,rcg,editor_main">
The only noticeable difference is the RCG resource which is obviously needed for the map to work, so i can't see how changing this line would fix anything.
Right, but there is another way i think, that is to manually edit the CP size values in the map file. This would be a long process but i'm willing to try it if it meant an end to this shitty problem once and for all.
Unless anyone else has any ideas, anything at all, i'm at my wits end with this bollocks honestly.
for the record here's the post >> http://forum.mtasa.com/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=29781

Hah turns out they forgot to add version numbers and revisions...
Anyways make sure you've got the latest editor (the one that comes with 1.0.5 might be outdated)
You can use svn to checkout this dir: http://mtasa-resources.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
And copy the content from the required and editor folder in your resources folder. You can do svn update once in a while to keep it updated.
Or you can download the latest version here: http://code.google.com/p/mtasa-resources/downloads/list
Same instructions apply.

Thanks MC, copied all content to the resources folder. Do you think it will be necessary to again remap the CPs in the two maps, or just load the maps in the editor, save them and upload...
Sod it i'll try the latter, i'll do just the one, see how it is on the server.

I've fixed this, but the upshot is a few older maps map appear to have checkpoints which are 4 times too small. If you see any, make a note of the map name so they can be corrected.

Thanks for fixing the prob Plodders but the price is too steep, i've just played 5 maps and 4 of them had small CPs.
McQueen Park Reversed SF Docks GP The Infernal Loop Canyon Race
People are going ballistic on the server lol, we're gonna need to revert back. I'm guessing there are too many maps affected to name them all.

Good effort lol
I have one last thing to try and if it doesn't come good then i will write them off.
I'll try placing the CPs 4 times smaller, they should appear normal in theory after this.
