you can always keep the currrent rate system and just add this as a 2nd alternative. That way you won't need a /comment command. Good idea.

the 5 options are a great idea, but i think there should be a 6th option if the map needs a fix
and if u select it, it should popup a window were u have to write what should be fixed

I agree completely making it easier to vote, and "out of 5" would be perfect.

Aslong as it still uses the MW event how it currently works.

Out of 5, a score of 3 would be "average", so for it to be a "most wanted" track it would need to be rated atleast 4.

The 5 options is a great idea!

If we add a 6th (fix) option, it should only be available to clan members to prevent abuse.

Maybe a text box appears with the 6th option, so we can input a brief discription, but we would need to be realistic.

back on-topic: how about a 6 option rating vote for every1 who finishes like this:

your first 5 options, each meaning ratings as first option = 0, 2nd = 2.5, 3rd 5, 4tg 7.5, 5th 10 and a 6th option that says: manual rating which brings out a window where you can put your rating in (0-10) and also a comment (optionally) with a Ok and Cancel button
this way you can rate a map whatever you want and also add a comment, like if a fix is needed or the wrong car is used or anything

thats how they would appear to players, yes, but we need some way to make map list for mw; currently 20 random maps are chosen from the top rated 40
the top rated 40 are those maps with highest rating average
how would average be calculated now? 1. AWESOME = 5, 2. Good = 4 and so on so that maps will have an average between 1-5 ??

the system is pretty much done, i just need to know how exactly it should work, mostly for the MW event
currently i made it so that every one of the 5 options have a rating number assigned: AWESOME = 10, Good = 7.5 and so on; this is to keep the old database style and stuff and its easier for the mw too

maps will get an average rating based on this; something like this: 2 AWESOME votes, 1 Good and 1 Bad this would be: 10+10+7.5+2.5=30/4=7.5 avg rating

this is how i think it should be done; if you have another idea post it here

so basically a 3 rating is half the scale, eg: 2.5? dont try and confuse me with maths in the morning! lol my head hurts now

its the same as with the x/10 system; im not gonna change all the numbers all over again, besides, x out of 10 is more easy to understand too

anyway, the system is done and working great, here's how it works:

-when you finish a map the rating menu appears, just like the intervention
- rate by pressing one of the numbers (1-5)
- note: you cant change your vote so watch out what you vote; you have to play the map again if you wanna change your vote
- the menu will stay there untilthe map ends; bcoz of the way polls work i cant make it dissapear right after you vote and cba to rewrite the whole poll resource again; its not a big deal anyway, shouldnt affect you in any way

now, the old /rate system is still there for commenting the maps
you can use it like this: /rate <comment>
note that the comment must have at least 2 words to be valid...

i think this is pretty much all about it
NOTE: its not on the server yet; i have to reset all the ratings first and that means the next mw would be affected, so i have to add it when there are a few players online so we can rate some maps in order to have what to play in the next mw

i'll probably add it later today if i'll be home and internet will work, if not, one of these days for sure

ill make it so that it shows your last vote (if you have one)
also ill try to make it so that you can change your vote once; i cant make it so that you cant change the vote as long as the poll stays open bcoz it would just flood the server

All I meant was changing your selection before its applied, I chose a rating for one map and then changed my mind but was unable to change it before timer ran out, just seems strange...

How about when the vote comes up, average "3" is highlighted by default, and you can change it within 10seconds to whatever you want.....thats all i meant....just changing your selection...

it applies the rating when u hit a button
i cant make it so that its one poll for every person, the voting resource doesnt work that way so i use a normal poll in which every1 can vote for something, except that i only show it to players who finish and note the ratings as they vote

ill look more into it and try to make it how you say... but couldnt do much on my first try; besides i'm still on holiday and dont have that much time

Is it possible to have the ratings change to certain maps in MostWanted? So like...:

rounds 1-10 maps rated 7.5 or higher

rounds 11-20 maps rated 9-10?

*edit* and can it be 30 rounds starting at 8pm with 60sec finish time everyday with that 10 player points thing?

ofc i can make the mw chose maps like that, but what if there arent 10 maps rated 9-10 ? i like it how its now, it itakes the 40 best rated maps and choses 20 random from them

also about moving it to 8 pm, make it 30 maps and adding 60 sec between maps will make it too long and too late for some of us

im waiting other opinions on this
i say: 7pm start with either 30 maps and 45 between them
or 7pm start with 20 maps and 60 secs between
im talking in gmt times here

ok, since i woke up too early this morning i worked a little on the rating system to make it so it pleases every1

the voting now end 1.5 seconds before the map change
you can switch your rating option how many times you want
changed the color of the chosen option to Orange
if you already voted the map, your last rate will be shown in light blue

oh almost forgot, you can cancel your current vote using 'Backspace' key

Cool, a cancel option is always helpful.

About changing the MW stuff, a minute between races is far too long for my liking - i'm happy to go with 30 rounds at 45 secs if needs be.
