If the idea is fun, and it looks nice, and you can race well on it, then what type of track it is does not matter. Making a map is more than just whacking a few cp's together. You need a plan, an idea, you need something... Even if the idea is just to make a short simple track, you still need to plan it out. Otherwise you might change your idea halfway through, and the finished map will not be what you wanted, and by that time its too late. Have you got a SnAndreas map if youre making a stock map? Make a drawing if its a custom track. Simple planning will keep your idea fun.
