Agreed, but a good starting grid won't help much, when after the start everyone tries to get the only nitrous in the middle of the road
Interleaving and skewing the rows gives a good layout that gives everyone a bit of room to weave through slower drivers.
However, some tracks are too narrow for rows of 4 cars, and in those cases it's better to make rows of three or two cars.
An alternative would have six skewed rows of 3 cars each (up to spawn #18 ), then interleave seven rows of 2:

Then just fill in the gaps with to more blocks of 2x4, and u get 32 spawns in a perfect grid.
As you can see, theyre staggered, just leave atleast 4 car lengths between the first 8 spawns, and you'll have plenty of room.
