but now i see that if i finish second in every race i take i'll finish with 0 points??
and if i finish 3rd in every race i take i'll be in negative points??

@Cunning: if u finish second u can also get some points; that only happends if there are just 2 players online and u finish 2nd, then yes, u get 0 rank points

oh, and something else: this new ranking don't mean new points; points will always be there; if u want u can call these new rankings Rank Scores or something

I have a question: why this new system?

As long is parallel, and point-rewards still used, no problem.
But... new streak system this month totally changed the classific. Usually my strategy is to "finish" a race, not to arrive 1st/2nd or so... and i gain lots of points, because i'm always here.

After the streak system, occasional players does incredibles classific overtakes in few days. Cortez, for example, made about 700pt in few races in full-server.

Finally Whiskey win-factor was rewarded, and his position was good.

New "score/rank" system, i think, can be good for "extra".

Example:
At the end of each month, the Top10 of Score/Rank, did a Tourney vs the Top10 of Points system. Is only for talking, you may make some better ideas.

We have the new Team script... an another idea can be that:
-Teams uses score system, month championship uses points system

I hope is clear my point of view: month championship, still with points... EXTRA rewards, with all you want.

I think can be the extra, and not the "routine", a good point of attraction for our server: what we have extra respect others?

The whole point is to reward skill and not just pure volume. You will still need a fuckload of races to win the championship, BUT in those races you will also have to proof you actually know how to race.

Scores are now visible on the statistics page.

The rankings on the frontpage are now based on the score instead of points.

you know, maybe i have a better plan.. I remember the level system of RPG games.. first 100 points u will upgrade to lvl 1.. for lvl2 u need 200 points.. then 400.. then 800.. then 1500..
Just like this:

What we can do is.. u get less points when ur above 1000 points.. and more less when ur above 2000.. etc..

I think theres gonna be more competition when u do that..

well we could do that too, but not in points, something else, just like rank points, because that shouldn't be reset every month imo

anyway, back to rank score again: from now on at every race start u get a pm from the scripts with how many rank points u got; so don't scare if u'll see 1st time u join the server that u get -3 points

thats natural, u'll get them back if u finish the race in a good position

Why not simply display 0 points if it works out to be a negative number? You're guaranteed to get people asking every day why they have -3 points.

score = points + 5*1st + 3*2nd + 2*3rd - 3*races

5*1st + 3*2nd + 2*3rd > 3*races :

{5*62 + 3*30 + 2*11 = 310 + 90 + 22 = 422} > { 3*137 = 411}
422 - 411 = 11 = 644 - 633

he means that when u finish 1st u get an 'additional' 2 rank points coz u get 5 rank points minus 3 from race start

Right, we're gonna go back to the "old" system with the points for this month. In the mean time we'll be testing an alternative ranking system based on the system used by Race Driver: GRID.

1 point for finishing the race
1 point for winning the race
1 point for every player you beat who has a higher or similar ranking.

Like this your points will depend more on who you beat rather than where you finish.

also, you'll get a pm everytime u finish a race with how many points and rank points u got that race...

it would be too much to show the names so instead it shows the number
