Dave is moving into a new house next week. He won't be able to host the scripts for approximately a week, starting next thursday.

What this means is that we need someone who can leave his pc running 24/7 for a week, has a somewhat stable internet connection and preferrably a low ping.

My idiotic internet provider happily switched off the connection at my old address at near-enough midnight this morning, but failed to move the connection to the new address. I've been told to wait until tomorrow to see if it starts working, so perhaps things will start working again tomorrow - but it's possible that the bloke on the phone was just fobbing me off cos he wanted to go home.

This message is being brought to you via a neighbour who left their wireless connection completely open

 Dave

The script machine is back up so the current scripts can be stopped. The connection may still be dodgy for a while - I'm putting in new cabling, and the electricity may be switched off occasionally while we build the bathroom. We have moved into this house while there is literally no bathroom whatsoever

So, since I moved house the scripts haven't really worked properly. A lot of stuff is getting repeated, which means for example that it's possible for someone to come both 1st and 2nd in a race. It can't really be taken seriously and I don't see how you can run the championship with this sort of thing occuring and messing up the stats.

I've been scratching my head trying to work out what has caused this, since we only moved 100 metres down the road and nothing else has changed (I've even tried swapping around network cables etc). I'm now out of ideas.

I would recommend that if you want the server to continue with scripts that work, then someone else has to run them.

				| I think Whiskey did say somewhere a while ago about scrapping this months championship, and didn't Acid offer to host the scripts for some reason?! Maybe he's still up for it.

Are the points bugged as well? If so, the championship results cant be considered valid.

To bring up this topic again - we're going to need a new script host soon. The computer that is used for the scripts is now not being used for anything else, so I would like to take it completely out of service and shave some euros off the electricity bill.

We need a replacement computer, that is reliable and on 24/7. It doesn't need to be very powerful. It's not recommended that they are run 'loose' on a computer that is used normally, but they can be run in a VM to keep everything tidy. There needs to be a port or two open to allow access to the scripts.

Guess we'll have to "outsource" it to serverffs.

				| I thought serverffs would run the scripts but then wouldn't provide any access to them.

Well, i have a computer which is on 24/7. You can call it a media computer which we use(d) as a server. I can give full access and FTP if you need.

Wait... haven't i offered this before, but somehow it didn't work?

I've sent you a PM with FTP login information, you can upload it to there. As long I get to know which ports there should be no problem with that.

The file is uploading now. I've put the scripts back up but to make things simple, any points, top times, etc that happens between now and when Kolezan starts hosting them will be lost.
