Chapter One: The Partner

It was another one of Bert's usual days. He woke up at 7 AM, then made breakfast, cooked eggs and ham, he would also make his favorite drink, coffee.
He would leave for work at 7:40 AM. He would always drive his Lamborghini Gallardo out of the driveway, and drive north, to the LVPDHQ. Not only was his car a means of transportation, but it was also his work. He worked in the Illegal Activity department. He usually had work with drug dealers, thieves, and afcorce, street racers. His dad was also a cop, but in his time there was no such thing as street racing. Bert would usually park on his reserved parking spot on the 2nd floor of the parking lot, which was located next to the LVPDHQ building. But that day was different from all the others. This time, the parking spot next to his wasn't empty, as per usual. That day there was a car parked on that spot. It was a BMW M3 GTR, of blue and white colors. Bert locked his car, and went down the elevator. He then entered the LVPDHQ building, and walked up to his office. In his office were two desks. One was Bert's, and the other one was empty, so Bert used it to stack boxes of papers, with criminal records. But that day, there were no boxes on that table, instead, there was an opened box, and inside it were some things that you would usually find in a policeman's office, for example, some papers, pens, a laptop and excetera.
Bert rushed to the chief's office. He opened the door to the chief's office, and inside, he found two people. The first one was the chief. The chief was talking to second person. That person was unknown to Bert. That person was about 1,90 meters tall, looked like he was in his mid-twenties, had short dark brown hair, and wore a red jacket, a lime green shirt, and some blue jeans. Once Bert closed the door behind himself, the chief and the other man looked at him.
The chief started talking to Bert:

Chief: Bert, have a seat.
Bert: I'd rather stand.
Chief: Well, OK I guess. Meet Kevin.

Kevin streched his hand in order to shake Bert's hand, but Bert ignored him. The chief continued talking:

Chief: Bert, Kevin is going to be your new partner.

Once he heard those words, Bert burst into into anger and rage. He yelled:

Bert: Chief, you can't be serious!!! I work solo!!!
Chief: Calm down Bert, and listen to me. Look, you didn't want a partner ever since that car crash with you and Dan. Ever since Dan died, you went solo, but now that has to change.
Bert: B-but chief!! I...
Chief: Look Bert, Kevin passed through the police academy with flying colors! We can't let an opportunity like this just slip out of our grasp!
Bert: But Chief!!!
Chief: No but's. It's either this, or you are going BACK to traffic police!
Bert: Fine!

Bert left the office mumbling to himself. Kevin went after him, and stopped him. Bert told him:

Bert: Look kid, you DON'T have experience like me, so from now on, you follow MY rules, and listen to ME! Got it?
Kevin: I guess so. By the way could you show me around the building?
Bert: Okay, I guess I could. Follow me.

The chief left his office, and looked at Bert and Kevin. He said to himself:

Chief: Poor kid, with Bert, he is for one wild ride.

Chapter Two: Blood Rush

A Blood Rush, the most dangerous type of street race known to man. It's rules: Drive two miles down the bustling Waterloft street, whilst driving in the wrong lane. The person who reaches the finish line first, or the only one to SURVIVE, wins the whole money pot, or the duelist's pink slip. You had to have guts to participate in this type of race. The LVPD tryed to stop this racing, but with no success. One day, the race was to be held at 3 PM, when most of the world's workforce would head home. The racers that day were getting ready. They were Wolf, the pro who drove the Audi R8, and
