Here's how to get it working:
1/ Quit MTA and go to: Program Files/MTA San Andreas/Mods/Deathmatch/Resources
2/ Delete the folder "race_nos2" from Resources folder.
3/ Start MTA and connect to server.
4/ Open chat and type /nos nfs for NFS Nos, or /nos normal for Normal Nos (look for notification at bottom center of screen).
5/ Open F1 Panel and select your prefered Gauge type from the Options Tab.
  All done!

If for some reason NOS is still not functioning properly, try our old method listed below.
1/ Connect to the Race Server.
  2/ Minimise MTA to Desktop.
  3/ Go to: Program Files/MTA San Andreas/Mods/Deathmatch/Resources
4/ Delete the folder "Race_Nos2" from Resources folder.
5/ Quit MTA (quit, not disconnect).
6/ Restart MTA and connect to server.
7/ Open chat and type /nos nfs for NFS Nos, or /nos normal for Normal Nos (look for a notification bottom center of screen).
8/ Diconnect from MTA and reconnect.
9/ Open F1 Panel and select your prefered Gauge type from the Options Tab.
  10/ Crack one off! (optional)

Alternatively you can try editing the nos_settings XML file located in the race_nos2 folder:
Right click on the nos_settings file and select Edit, and look for this line .... <behavior sustain="true" control="nfs"></behavior>
Exchange "nfs" for "normal" or vise versa.
Make sure you quit MTA before you do this.

Worked for me. I came on yesterday and couldn't get NOS to work properly, but followed Sputs' post and now all is well (I assume I don't have to do this every time I open MTA?)
This should be a sticky and maybe also mentioned in-game.

				| Yea just the one time Dave. Only after a reinstall of MTA would you need to repeat.
