No, I don't like Turks, neither I want to learn their 'hello' and 'thank you' phrases. Or Estonian, or Greek, or Bulgarian. Or Polish for that matter, but there's no going back now, the damage has been done and I know what 'siema' and 'dziekuje' stand for.
So I was thinking: - repressive measures, like muting, kicking and banning, because they speak their own language, unaware of language rules, would create bad atmosphere and make servers emptier, which is bad; - polite guidance, like explaining them every aspect of the rules, while inserting 'please' and 'thank you' here and there, will make them laugh, disrespect you even more and flood the chatbox with their crap, until you finally ban somebody
So, could we make for them other teams on our server? Like as there is TeamSKC, there could be Eternal or DejaVu or some other. Because they're regulars, come in big numbers and flood the chatbox with their languages. PMing each other, when there are 5-6 of them is pain in the ass. So, this way, they get their own 'Y' to play with.
They'd have no server admin powers, just team/group admin, where their leader could let in other team members/remove some from the group. Also, the one who is invited, should have some defense mechanism to refuse invitation (like I don't want some DejaVu to place me in their group and can't to anything about that)
This would, in my opinion, make server even more 'other teams friendly', which is what some of our Founding Fathers (XD) wanted (I don't remember if it was a Welsh or a Belgian FF)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, I know it doesn't solve the freelancers, lone riders, solo players... coming on the server and greeting everybody with 'Turk varmy' or 'kto russki'.
So, I was thinking of another, even more advanced/complicated feature: In F1 menu, choose languages you want to use, other than English and choose a key from keyboard, to use for that language. T is for English (default), Y is for teamspeak (no matter which language) and, for example, U is for that other language you use frequently.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And don't crap about 'running such scripts is like running SETI'. Remove those hideous 40mb heavy cars and 100mb heavy 3dsmax races and we'll have a smooth server, once again Think out of the box, like AdiBoy does

There could be this thing, that when the player joins the server, he can choose the team where he wants to join, hotkeys for moving, so there will be no need for team admins orsmh, if the players wont join it and will talk in foreign languages in public chat, then the server admins can move them in the team and tell them to use teamchat.

Bit of a double feeling with the new chatbox. The concept is really good but most people seems to prefer the layout of the old chatbox. Mostly the additional spacing and basically just lesser room for text is somewhat off-putting.
Any chance it could be modified to have the tabs and smileys but with the layout of the old box?

Ok, i'm a bit slow. Only found out now than u can modify the look Is it possible to change the default settings so it mimicks the regular chatbox? Like that people wont feel the need to '/smartchat' the second they join.

It depends on what your default chatbox is, the default chatbox is 300px wide but the transparent one is 450px wide.

In my case the TV is miles away so the chat box is much bigger than usual

If I type in "/smartchat" to use the old chat system, pm doesn't work anymore. I can see the pm window only if I use "/smartchat" again.
