I need some help, i'm seriously making the decision of my life.!

I'm going to purchase a tower PC as my laptop (Pavilion DV9702ea) just doesn't do much good on the performance side and my father needs it for work. Does this spec look decent?

I found it on the net for Ã‚Â£390 with a keyboard mouse and tower (exc. monitor which is about Ã‚Â£120) and saves me the pain of traveling 20 odd miles gathering parts to make one. Anyone think thats a fair price to pay or any better ones out there for price? (my budget is around Ã‚Â£500 inc monitor, slightly higher or lower I don't mind).

I don't know too much on if it can handle games like CoD4 on decent res with the current 8400 graphics. Anyone have an idea?

whats a good psu for quad core and 9800gt with asus iP45 socket 775 motherboard????

Overkill? Not possible rofl, your system will only take as much power as it needs, the PSU doesn't ram 1000W into a system that only requires 700W for example.

what I mean't was I don't want to spare lots of power e.g if I need 600w and I get an 850w psu which is just a waste of money and power. I've chosen an OCZ StealthXtreme 600W PSU on my list but not 100% sure if that spec is too powerful or not too powerful. there is also an OCZ StealthXtreme 500W PSU which is significantly cheaper but i'm undecided/confused on what will do (500w or 600w or will I need more??).

It's my first build on a gaming pc and I dont wanna blow it up with a shit psu lol.

Here we go bro:

Dimensions = Depth 40mm - Width 250mm- Hight 130mm.

PSU: "On a system with a single hard drive, ROM drive, overclocked Q6600 and 2GB of memory, a single card is pulling at load 278W. If you feel like adding a second card into the mix, your system can peak as much as 480W with just these few items connected. ItÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s worth remembering the importance of a good quality power supply; for a single card we would recommend a quality 520W+ unit while for two cards youÃ¢â‚¬â„¢re probably looking at the 650W+ area."

The one you're looking at falls 20W short of the recomended, which is 520W, but that's if you have the system specs mentioned, which you havn't, so 500W should be adiquate enough.

If you order the card by phone, you can always describe your system specs and ask them to recomend a PSU. That's what i did, even though i had a fair idea.
