well you might be amazed by this or you might just laugh at me.
Race Driver Grid @ 1680 x 1050 with all settings maxed out and 4AA (Antialiasing) on my HD 3850 Ultimate

it all runs very smoothly for about 30-40 minutes but then starts to lag. this is caused by my graphics card overheating here is a screen of the temp of it.
to be fair for a silent card it is amazing and for me, a person who doesnt really play that much it does the job wonderfully. but still could save energy by boiling water for the tea right here on the card lol

ouch, you could fry an egg on that. I can't play GRID higher than 800x600 without having 40FPS or more. I play on a HP Pavilion DV9702ea laptop with GeForce 8400M 256MB. I know it's a crap card but I guess that's what decent laptops comes with because a Dell XPS laptop with a 512MB 8600M GT costs like over £1,500 which is just too much for my pocket.
BTW when I upgrade my PC which would be a good graphics card I could upgrade to with a decent budget of about under £90? I don't really want to overspend on one as I may be getting a new PC in many months but temporarily may just do the job. At the moment I have a Nvidia 5750 128MB Dedicated graphics card which probabilly came out in the roman times. (sarcasm)
EDIT: was a video I recorded with the current graphics card on my lapie which I recorded at 800x600 at about 25FPS.

well that frying an egg on a graphics card is cool and evrything but 1 an egg fries at a fairly low temperature and i really do think that the sauce pan has been preheated there.
@ Killer ROFL why are all teh cars in your video in one piece if you want to enjoy that game to the full, then race on savage difficulty with all teh assists turned off, mainly the traction control, i tried it with a manual and all i can say is that i am supprised that i havent smashed my house yet because it is so damn hard

I changed my laptop a while back (few months ago) as it had a problem with my old one. My new one has this spec.
It's a HP Pavilion DV9702ea and it's sweet. 1) Processor: AMD Turion 64x2 (Dual-Core) 2.0GhZ 2) HDD (Hard-Drive): 320GB (used to be 120GB but upgraded that) 3) RAM: 2GB (2x1024MB) DDR2 4) Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS 256MB Dedicated also with 1023MB Shared. 5) Screen size (in inches): 17" HD BrightView Widescreen at 1440x900 pixels. 6) Ready made (from store) or custom built: Ready Made 7) How much did you pay? (optional): £500 for the laptop and about £50 for HDD upgrade. 8 ) Internet speed?: Same shitty 2.3mbps Broadband with Tiscali because I can't get over 2mpbs around my area.
I find it very good for the price I payed for it and happily runs my applications and some of the games. It also runs COD4 on 1440x900 with 25-60FPS which was amazing for a low end graphics card on a ready built laptop, not PC.

"The new core having a four-channel memory controller and 16 raster operators, it is not just a half of the G92. The reduction in power consumption is consequently lower than with the G84. Anyway, the GeForce 9600 GT consumes 30% less than the GeForce 8800 GT 512MB in 3D mode. These 60 watts we’ve measured in our test are much lower than declared by Nvidia, so there is no need in purchasing a high-wattage PSU just as there’s no need to buy one for RV670-based solutions."
Found it <<< there's also <<<
But not entirely sure

Yeah, wow lol, i hated watching the cemetary fill up with the fallen as the game progressed, Cannon Fodder was hard as nails i recall.
What about , "You can bang the shit out of the nitro button", lol, these were cutting edge racing games of our time, and with 4 players!
Maybe we should dedicate a thread to this stuff as we've slightly deviated..

I'm in the process of formatting a brand spanking new 750GB secondary hard drive, as my 250GB primary has 3% left... whoops.
Gonna move loads of shite over to the secondary when done, all my music and videos to start, that'll free up a whole heap of space.
Bwuhaha, all done now. I have 70 gb free on my primary drive now, with 635 free on the secondary.
